ClohSei® – Hypochlorous acid generator (for Home and SME)
During COVID-19 outbreak, we started development of Hypochlorous acid generator which can be easily equipped in household and SME with reachable range. ClohSei® is officially registered trademark with Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand. We successfully developed in-house technology of Hypochlorous acid generator which enables full function of on-flow Hypochlorous acid generation as same as large scale equipment within reachable budget for ordinary user and Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Hypochlorous acid is the natural powerful oxidant that white blood cell creates to kill pathogens. Our technology uses only food grade raw material unlike some other technologies. We apply electrical power into saline with appropriate concentration to generate electrolyzed water and then mix with acidifier to do pH adjustment in order to keep large existence ratio of Hypochlorous acid.
Stable, flow-rate independent, and on-flow Hypochlorous acid generation by ClohSei®
As mentioned earlier, our ClohSei® technology generates Hypochlorous acid instantaneously on incoming flow water. Normally, most of small scale equipment in the market have mainly 2 types.
- Batch production – Generates Hypochlorous acid in a large volume at one time and divide it in small portion for usage. The rest of Hypochlorous acid is put aside and waiting for the next use. So that the generated Hypochlorous acid loses its concentration (disinfectant power) by time. Disinfectant effectiveness of earlier used solution will be better than the later one. User has to wait for a new batch production after used it up.
- Flow-dependent concentration – Another type of small scale equipment mostly varies the output concentration of Hypochlorous acid by incoming water flow rate. User cannot fix aimed concentration with other flow rate values. So that it is not convenient for user since user has to wait longer time for higher concentration due to lower flow rate of incoming water. With this type of equipment, user cannot obtain low concentration at low flow rate or high concentration at high flow rate.
Our technology from Clohsei® can overcome both of the above problems. Clohsei® generates Hypochlorous acid at fix concentration (disinfectant power) independently from flow-rate. The concentration is stable in range of 35-55ppm, no matter how flow rate change. Recommended flow rate of incoming water is in range of 1.5 – 5.0 L/minute (90-300 L/hour).
User does not have to wait for a new batch production and no need to worry about how to tune flow rate to obtain the targeted concentration value. Clohsei® is much more flexible and user friendly than the above 2 types of equipment.
ClohSei® Booster mode to serve need of high concentration (ppm)
According to the above context, ClohSei® equipment has stable concentration in range of 35-55ppm, but we also provide booster mode which can generate Hypochlorous acid with concentration as high as 70-100ppm for a short period of time to serve needs of high concentration Hypochlorous acid in some cases such as washing organ of pig or cows.
ClohSei® generation capacity covers from small volume up to 7 tons/day
Since our technology aims to serve home & SMEs need, our R&D team developed ClohSei® capacity to serve usage of 2.7 tons/day (2,700 L/day). User can also temporarily generate Hypochlorous acid by ClohSei® up to 7 tons/day (7,000 L/day), but we do not recommend to use the equipment at this rate for a long time since it will largely reduce equipment lifetime. In order to keep the equipment to maintain lifetime over years, maximum generation capacity is normally recommended to 2.7 tons/day (2,700 L/day).
As a rule of thumb, we use Hypochlorous acid 10 times of food material weight. For example, user must use Hypochlorous acid 300 liters to wash food material of 30 kg. In restaurant scale that uses food material of 270 kg/day or less, ClohSei® equipment fits your needs.
Auto-Regenerative System in ClohSei®
As mentioned earlier, ClohSei® has Auto-Regenerative System which can regain concentration of internal tank if the concentration drops by time when the equipment is not in-use for weeks. Our unique technology of Auto-Regenerative System does not consume new raw materials to do reproduce of Hypochlorous acid or electrolyzed water.
Since Hypochlorous acid or electrolyzed water loses its concentration (disinfectant power) by time of putting aside, user has to drain out all solution inside the equipment if the equipment is not in-use for a long time such as vacation for 2 weeks. After drained out everything, the equipment has to consume new raw material to generate new Hypochlorous acid or electrolyzed water, depending on equipment.
ClohSei® Auto-Regenerative System, however, detects losing of concentration automatically and perform concentration regaining process without consuming any new raw material. This system can save using of raw material unnecessarily. We added this system in some model of ClohSei® equipment for user’s choice in order to help user saving of initial equipment investment.
Outstanding features of ClohSei®
- Our Hypochlorous acid existence rate is approximately 6 times higher than ordinary “Electrolyzed water”.
- ClohSei®, same as AquaRiser, keeps stable concentration. Concentration of our Hypochlorous acid does not vary by flow rate of incoming water.
- Our device generates Hypochlorous acid at a glance, not batch production. Users can continuously use Hypochlorous acid, no need to wait for the next production batch.
- There is no need to contact with any hazardous raw material.
- There is no any toxic residue and no unwanted by product.
- After killing pathogens or contact with organic substances, our Hypochlorous acid will be dissolved into water. There is salt content less than 0.02%.
- There is no chlorine gas production, or chlorate contamination.
- Our regenerative technology from ClohSei® prevents concentration drop due to long idle time. There is no need to drain out any electrolyzed solution even idle for weeks and save excessive usage of raw material.

Compare with other disinfectant in Thailand market, Hypochlorous acid by ClohSei® technology is one of the cheapest solution which has total cost of 0.09 THB/L. This running cost includes cost of Electricity, Water, and all of raw materials.

Effectiveness in killing bacteria, virus, and fungi
Hypochlorous acid is well known as natural powerful oxidant agent in human immunity system. It can kill 99.99% of bacteria, virus, and some kinds of fungi and its spore with very small contact time. When comparing with Sodium hypochlorite, Hypochlorous acid requires much less concentration (ppm) but has better disinfectant function and no toxic residue after used. There is no need to rinse by water afterward, unlike other disinfectant agents.
Usage example of Hypochlorous acid
We can replace chlorine usage (Sodium Hypochlorite) with Hypochlorous acid. So that there are many actual applications since our technology (AquaRiser) has more than 20 years of usage history in Japan.
